The Speaking For Profit Podcast | A show for professional speakers, entrepreneurs & business professionals who speak or sell.

Welcome to the Speaking for Profit Podcast with Jason Reid and Cindy Ashton.

Nov 3, 2017

If you’ve ever spoken to an audience of a different culture you know how difficult it can sometimes be to make a good connection.

Jason and Cindy welcome Natsuyo Lipschutz, a cross-cultural communications expert who explains how to be both understood and respected by Asian audiences, particularly Japanese.

They discuss the differences between high-context and low-context cultures, plus the importance of body language and reading your audience before you get on stage. Natsuyo also talks about her own speaking career including co-hosting a challenging event with a well known Japanese announcer. She also describes how competitive dancing has improved her skills as a speaker.

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Natsuyo began her career at a top Japanese trading company in New York. She then received her MBA degree from New York University, and held a position as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Today she is the managing principal of her own strategy consulting firm, ASPIRE Intelligence, and executive consultant of a global public speaking consultancy, Breakthrough Speaking.

Natsuyo is a Global Leadership and Cross-Cultural Communications strategist. She equips global leaders with advanced cross-cultural communication skills to improve team dynamics by bridging the cultural gap and leveraging diversity.
